The tsunami disaster in Japan - information and aid

The Israel-Japan Friendship Society and Chamber of Commerce wishes to express its support to our friends in Japan in these difficult times, and is reaching out to help those who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster.

We deeply appreciate all of your kind requests to help out.
 
 
 
In this time of need, we are working alongside various organizations, including the Japanese Embassy, the Israel Export Institute, The Japanese community in Israel and numerous companies, all toformulte aid and donations to the affected areas.
 
 

As part of its work, the Israel-Japan Friendship Society and Chamber of Commerce has started a donation fund, all of which proceedings will be put forwaard to supporting and rehabilitating children who were affected by the disaster in Japan.

We ask you all to help us in helping out the 100,000 Japanese children who suffered throguh the tsunami and earthquake disaster. Open your hearts and your pockets, and donate now.

You can also donate through the Embassy of Japan in Israel, donations will be transferred to the Red Cross.

You are also encouraged to keep sending us more suggestions on how to aid Japan, either by donation or any other way. We will gather all applications and reply to those which are relevent.

Following the events, the Israel Export Institute, in a joint effort with the Israel-Japan Chamber of Commerce put together an assesment team, aimed at treating various issues and forwarding updates to companies exporting to Japan.



Some information about the solidarity events with Japan:       (UPDATE)

March 28th, 2011:  The "solidarity event Japan - Israel" will take place in five different locations:
                              the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv, Tikotin museum
                              for Japanese art in Haifa, Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, Wilfrid Museum at Kibbutz Hazorea.

March 30th, 2011: "Japan, My Love - Israel embraces Japan" solidarity and prayer evening for Japan,
                            at 19.30 Shmaryahu Vail village. 
                            
Program: Lecture by Professor Ben Ami Shiloni on how Japan deals with huge natural disasters,
                            a video projection of the Japanese opera singer Isaacu 
Ikeda, accompanied by Israeli and Palestinian children,
                            playing in Kotto with the Japanese player Awewaah Hissau, origami - folding paper cranes, Greetings and  
                            condolences to victims of the
 disaster, Japanese calligraphy demonstrations, Sakura dancing , poetry and wishes
                            for peace among the people in Japan.

March 30th, 2011: "Day of Solidarity with Japan 2011" Rosh HaAyin municipality, its mayor and Mind Go club cordially invites you to
                             participate in the special solidarity day in which we identify with the suffering of Japanese people and send them
                             many special wishes for health and quick recovery.
                             In the program: GO tournament, 
Tree of wishes - will be placed in front of center and allows guests and participants
                             to place a health wish, Origami Crane folding, Ballet dancing to Japanese music etc.

     April 5th, 2011: "Gaga for Japan" At 20:30 at Hangar 11 at Tel - Aviv, Ohad Naharin and Bat - Sheva dancers group 
                             will perform a multiplayer event called "Gaga",  which all revenues will be donated to victims of earthquake
                             in Japan. The public is invited to participate by Gaga - movement language developed by Naharin - contribute
                             in this way to ease the suffering of disaster victims and assist in long-term rehabilitation efforts required.

April 15th, 2011:   "Solidarity Yoga practice for the victims of Japan" - Ella Yoga with the collaboration of The Israel - Japan
                            Friendship Society, invites you to come and to participate in Yoga practice to be held on Friday, between
                            the hours of 13:00-15:00, at Tel-Aviv entryboat sailors, on the western front of building 4 (near Castro store)

 The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced all Israelis staying in Japan have been accounted for.
